LL.M.

The Master of Laws (LL.M.) program is a postgraduate course providing advanced knowledge and expertise in various legal specializations, including Tax Law, Environmental Law, International Law, and Financial Services Law. The program involves thesis work and research projects.

  • Eligibility Criteria: BA LL.B., BBA LL.B., LL.B., B.Sc. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., from a government-recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
  • Selection Basis: Entrance examination conducted by the university, followed by counseling. CLAT scores are not accepted for the LL.M. program.

  • Course Fee: INR 1.75 lakhs per annum.

Ph.D. Programs

DNLU offers full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs in Law, English, Political Science, and Economics. Both full-time and part-time Ph.D. scholars are required to fulfill the same academic requirements.

  • Seats are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), with 50% of EWS seats reserved for Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates.
Horizontal Reservation:
  • 30% of seats are reserved for female candidates.
  • 5% of seats are reserved for specially-abled persons (Persons with Disability).
  • 5% seats are reserved for candidates of M.P. domicile under categories such as descendants of Freedom Fighters, wards of War Martyrs, and children of Ex-Servicemen of CRPF/Indian Army.

Admission Procedure for Ph.D. Programs

The admission to the Ph.D. program involves the following steps:

  1. DNLU National Level Entrance Test (DNLET): The test comprises two sections, Research Methodology and subject-specific questions, based on the UGC NET syllabus.
  2. Interview: Candidates who score 50% or above in DNLET (45% for SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability) are shortlisted for an interview. UGC-JRF awardees are exempt from DNLET and directly appear for the interview.
  3. Evaluation Criteria: During the interview, the candidate’s research proposal is assessed based on its quality, the candidate’s competence, the feasibility of the research at the university, and its potential to contribute new knowledge.
  4. Final Selection: Based on the interview panel’s report, the university announces the list of successful candidates who then complete the admission formalities.
