Position Details
Job Title: Legal Officer
Number of Positions: 01 (One)
Location: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai
Duration: One year contract, initially extendable based on performance and institute requirements.
Salary: Rs. 75,000 per month (Commensurate with educational qualification and work experience).
Eligibility Criteria
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University/Institute with a good academic record (at least 55% aggregate marks or B+ on a 10-point grade scale).
- Preference for candidates with a Master’s Degree in Law or a Diploma in specialized fields of Law.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an advocate or as a law officer in the Legal Department of Central/State Government or any reputed organization.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, writing, and teamwork skills.
- Added advantage for candidates with excellent communication and rapport-building skills in both Hindi and English, and high motivation.
Job Description
- Provide legal support and representation in civil/criminal litigation.
- Handle RTI matters of the Institute.
- Advise on legal aspects of staff engagements and project contracts.
- Act as member secretary for the Committee against Sexual Harassment at the university.
- Vet MoUs and draft standard agreements.
- Perform other relevant legal duties as required.
