Essential Qualification and Experience
Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel
- Experience: At least 10 years of practice in Criminal Law.
- Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of criminal law.
- Thorough understanding of ethical duties of a defense counsel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team with leadership qualities.
- Managed at least 30 criminal trials in Sessions Courts (relaxable in appropriate circumstances).
- Computer knowledge preferred.
Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel
- Experience: At least 7 years of practice in Criminal Law.
- Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of criminal law.
- Strong legal research skills.
- Handled at least 20 criminal trials in Sessions Courts (relaxable in exceptional cases).
- Proficiency in IT work.
Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel
- Experience: 0 to 3 years of practice in Criminal Law.
- Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of ethical duties of defense counsel.
- Excellent legal writing and research skills.
- IT proficiency.
