Temporary Mandatory Injunction,
A court can grant temporary mandatory injunction (Indian Cable Co. Ltd. V. Sumitra Chakroborty 1985 Cal). When granted, it is to restore the status quo, and not to establish new state of things. (Ramchandra Tanwar v. Ram Rakhmal Amichand 1971 Raj). Interim mandatory injunction has also been granted by civil courts for ordering a landlord to reconstruct the demolished walt and to make the premises habitable (Goverdhan Singh v Mulkh Raj, 1973 J & K); to restore to a tenant possession surreptitiously taken by the landlord during the continuance of the tenancy, and in breach of the protection of the rent laws (Indian Cable Co. Ltd. v. Sumitra Chakraborty 1985 Cal).
