Name of the Posts:

  • Chief Editor: 01 (One)
  • Editor: 02 (Two)
  • Deputy Editor: 04 (Four)
  • Assistant Editor: 06 (Six)

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Chief Editor

  • Retired District Judge (preferably Super-time/Selection Scale) or Retired Secretary (Legislation).
  • Alternatively, must hold a Law degree from a recognized university with:
    • At least 10 years’ practice as an Advocate in the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts.
    • Periods serving as a Public Prosecutor, Government Advocate, or Judicial Officer will count towards practice duration.
  • Academicians with 10 years of active teaching experience in law colleges are also eligible.

Editor (Marathi and English)

  • Retired District Judge/Secretary (Legislation)/Principal/Professor of Law Colleges or other equivalent positions retired within the last 5 years without any post-retirement assignment.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a Law degree and:
    • 7 years’ practice as an Advocate or service as a Public Prosecutor/Government Advocate.

Deputy Editor

  • Retired Judicial Officer retired within the last 5 years without any post-retirement assignment.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a Law degree and:
    • 5 years’ practice as an Advocate or service as a Public Prosecutor/Government Advocate.

Assistant Editor

For Fresh Law Graduates:
  • Law degree obtained by passing all exams in first attempt.
  • Final year of Law degree or LL.M. must have been completed with minimum 55% marks.
For Pleaders, Attorneys, or Advocates:
  • Law degree with 3 years’ experience as a Pleader, Attorney, or Advocate in the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts.
  • Service as a Public Prosecutor will be considered part of judicial profession.
For Ministerial Staff:
  • Members of the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts’ Ministerial staff, Law Assistants, or other relevant roles with:
    • A Law degree and at least 3 years of service after obtaining the degree.
