Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement.— The Registration Act, 1908

Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the ^1*** Registration Act, 1908.

² [(2) It extends to the whole of India ^3***:
Provided that the State Government may exclude any districts or tracts of country from its operation.]

(3) It shall come into force on the first day of January, 1909.
