To represent the Income Tax Department, Gujarat before:
- High Court
- Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)
- National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)
- National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT)
- Other judicial fora
Essential Qualification and Experience:
Senior Standing Counsel
- Eligible to appear before the High Court as an advocate
- At least 5 years of experience handling direct tax matters before High Courts or ITAT
OR - 3 years of service as a Junior Standing Counsel of the Department
OR - A retired/resigned officer of the Income Tax Department who served at least 3 years as Additional Commissioner/Director of Income-tax or higher post, and is eligible to appear before the High Court as an advocate
- Must not have been removed, dismissed, or compulsorily retired for disciplinary reasons
Junior Standing Counsel
- Eligible to appear before the High Court as an advocate
- Minimum 3 years of experience in handling preferably direct tax matters before High Courts or ITAT
OR - A retired/resigned officer of the Income Tax Department from the post of Additional/Joint CIT or below, eligible to appear before the High Court
- Must not have any pending or past disciplinary action
