YLCube is inviting applications for a research internship directed at the study of the National Highways in India from a legal perspective.

About YL Cube

The Young Leaders for Legal Literacy Foundation is a not-for-profit Section 8 company that engages in socio-legal research and percolates legal literacy and legal aid across states and union territories in India.

It is an initiative to motivate and inspire young students and guide them to traverse the righteous path throughout their personal and professional lives. By having direct interactions, an exchange of views with experienced legal minds and participation in research, conceptualising, and correspondingly reporting. 

It has been recognised by The International Criminal Court Hague, United Nations Harmony with Nature Programme, Received a grant for volunteer work by the IBJ and has Collaborated with various Public Institutions and Universities pan India and abroad, including the University of Oxford’s Oxford Pro Bono Publico and Clinton Global Initiative University. 

About the Research Project

YLCube is inviting applications for a research internship directed at the study of the National Highways in India from a legal perspective. The project aims to understand how the highway sector became one of the most commendable areas of government spending and trace its history from an underperforming infra-asset to its position in contemporary times.

The study shall identify the changes in law and policy which have enabled it to outperform all other infrastructural domains over the years. The project also aims to identify the roadblocks in further growth of the National Highways, such as problems within the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways’ notices, circulars and their Model EPC, BOT, and HAM contracts et cetera.

Further, the project will conclude with suggestions to overcome these hindrances and pave the way for better policy. 

Structure of Internship

It is a work-from-home, virtual internship wherein the project coordinators would review the progress daily through video conferencing. (Working hours are flexible)

Apart from the Certificate of internship & publication opportunity, the interns would have a hands-on experience in practical nuances of the law, working with team members from different parts of the country and exposure to the legal research structure.

Eligibility

A regular student of law, public policy, psychology, sociology, political science, or related fields interested in the subjects of study is eligible to apply. The learning affinity and a spirit for constructive research is a sine-qua-non.
