National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) invites applications for the position of Associate (Litigation) for Project 39A. This position is based at the campus in Dwarka, New Delhi.

About Project 39A:
Project 39A focuses on issues related to criminal justice in India, inspired by Article 39-A of the Indian Constitution. The project covers litigation, research, and communications concerning forensics, torture, legal aid, mental health, and the death penalty.
Eligibility:
- Education: Graduate with an LLB degree and enrolment with any State Bar Council.
- Experience: Minimum two years of full-time criminal litigation experience at the appellate stage preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak different Indian languages preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents such as criminal appeals, review petitions, writ petitions, etc.
- Assist senior advocates and advocates on record.
- Develop legal strategies and arguments, conduct related research.
- Visit prisons across India for case-related interviews and information gathering.
- Communicate with prison authorities to obtain case-specific information.
- Present Project 39A’s work at appropriate forums.
- Contribute to research and strategic efforts as required.
- Organize training workshops and conferences.
- Any other tasks necessary to advance the goals of Project 39A.
