LLB Internship Programme 2024 in the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice

About the Programme:
The Department of Justice (DoJ) organizes an Internship Programme for young law students. The objective is to familiarize young law students with the working of the Department of Justice by providing training in research & referencing work, focusing on various specialized areas of justice delivery, including Access to Justice (Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, Legal Aid, probono Legal Services), e-Courts services, Fast Track Special Courts, National Mission for Justice Delivery & Legal Reforms, and CSS for Development of Infrastructure Facilities in the District and Subordinate Judiciary.

Eligibility:

  • Indian students who have completed their 2nd year of study and have written the examination to enter the 3rd year or are studying in the 3rd year of a three-year degree course.
  • Students studying in the 4th year who have written the examination to enter the 5th year or are studying in the 5th year of a five-year degree course.

Duration:

  • The internship typically lasts for one month (four weeks).
  • Monthly internships will start from 01.06.2024 onwards during the current financial year (FY 2024-25).
  • There will be three slots offered during the 1st phase (Summer Programme).

Number of Slots:

  • A maximum of 10 candidates will be allowed per monthly slot, subject to the Department’s requirements.
  • The decision of the Competent authority in this regard will be final.

Stipend:

  • Interns will receive an honorarium of Rs. 5000/- upon completing their internship.
