Essential Qualification and Experience

Candidates should possess:

• A Law Degree from a reputable university/institution with an excellent academic background.
• Qualification to practice/work as a legal professional in India.
• 7–10 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Experience working on commercial and procurement contracts globally.
• Exposure to the telecom sector will be preferred.
• Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite.

Roles and Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing legal support across Tata Communications Limited and its group companies, including:

• Providing commercial, corporate transactional and litigation support to various business lines.
• Working with business and senior management teams to understand requirements and assist in negotiating legal documents with third parties.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, including:
  • Customer contracts;
  • Procurement contracts;
  • Software licences;
  • Marketing contracts; and
  • Other legal documentation.
• Reviewing tender documents, RFPs and vendor contracts and advising business and sales teams on legal risks and requirements.
• Staying updated with applicable laws and statutes and exercising sound legal judgment on legal issues.
• Coordinating with external legal consultants and advocates on legal opinions and representations.
• Providing contractual support to litigation, compliance and regulatory teams.
• Developing new processes to proactively identify and manage legal and commercial risks.
• Supporting general corporate and administrative activities.
• Supervising and guiding junior team members on day-to-day legal matters.
• Formulating and implementing legal policies and processes.

Additional Skills

Candidates should have:

• Sound knowledge of commercial laws.
• Working knowledge of AI platforms used for contract lifecycle management.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business and senior management teams.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Experience managing multiple legal and commercial matters.
