SCHEME AND SYLLABUS
SELECTION PROCESS:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Written Main Examination (Subjective Type)
- Interview
Exam Pattern: The Examination Pattern will be as follows:
PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
- The exam is of Objective type i.e it consists of Multiple-Choice Questions.
- This exam consists of 2 papers.
- Paper I consist of questions from General Studies (100 Marks.)
- Paper II consists of questions from Law Subject (150 Marks)
Candidates who get qualified in this exam will be called for Mains.
Paper-I: General Studies (100 Marks)
- General Knowledge (Including Current Affairs)
- Elementary General Science
Paper -II: Law (150 Marks)
- Law of Evidence and Procedure (Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code)
- Constitutional & Administrative Law of India
- Hindu Law and Muhammadan Law
- Law of Transfer of Property, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief Act.
- Law of Contracts and Law of Torts
- Commercial Law
MAINS EXAMINATION
The Exam consists of 2 types of papers:
- Compulsory Papers.
- Optional Papers.
- There will be 5 Papers that are Compulsory for this exam.
- The Hindi & English are of qualifying nature.
- There will be 5 subjects in Optional type out of which, the candidate has to choose 3 subjects as optional.
Compulsory Paper:
- General Knowledge including Current Affairs (150 Marks)
- Elementary General Science (100 Marks)
- General Hindi (100 Marks)
- General English (100 marks)
- Law of Evidence and Procedure (150Marks)
Optional Paper:
- Constitutional & Administrative Law of India (150 Marks)
- Hindu law and Muhammadan law (150 Marks)
- Law of Transfer of Property, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief (150 marks)
- Law of Contracts and Torts (150 Marks)
- Commercial Law (150 marks)
VIVA-VOCE (INTERVIEWS)
Written Mains qualified candidates have to appear for the interview. This interview round is for 100 marks.
Bihar Judicial Services Exam Eligibility Criteria:
- A candidate needs to be the citizen of India.
- Moreover, a candidate needs to be having the domicile of Bihar to get the reservation benefits.
- Applicants must have completed LLB from any recognized institute.
- The age of the applicants must be between 22 years and 35 years.
- The candidates, who have a permanent domicile in the state of Bihar and belong to the reserved category, will be offered the relaxation in their upper age.
- The age relaxation for the candidates of the OBC category will be of 3 years.
- The candidates of the SC and ST category will get the age relaxation of 5 years.
